Production Hub

Role: Head of Audio at Artlist. Designed and built the platform for the content team, my own department, and the freelance artists and agents we worked with.

Summary
Designed and built a music-production platform that connects the Artlist content team with hundreds of freelance artists and agents, integrating Monday.com and Google Drive with production tracking, review and approval workflows, permissions, notifications, and operational dashboards. Added Gemini analysis and content generation, Whisper voice-note transcription, and a grounded RAG knowledge assistant for production teams.
Problem
Production status, reviews, approvals, and delivery lived across Monday.com boards, Google Drive folders, and manual follow-ups, with no single view for the team.
Workflows
Track intake and production tracking, review and approval with timestamped comments, master approval, permissions by role, notifications, and dashboards for the department.
AI
Gemini-based analysis and content generation, Whisper voice-note transcription, a grounded RAG knowledge assistant, and fal.ai album-art generation.
Integrations
Monday.com, Google Drive, Freshdesk support ticketing, Gemini, Whisper, and fal.ai.
Status
Live production platform, in daily use at Artlist
Scale
The Artlist content team and hundreds of freelance artists and agents, plus stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, Support, Content, and Creative.
Result
One place for production status, approvals, and team knowledge, with AI handling analysis, transcription, and questions that used to interrupt the team.

AI audio workflow experiments

Prototypes that test what AI can do inside a real audio and creative pipeline: analysis, matching, variation, voice, and generation.

AI analysis

A tool that matches the right music to any video, fast.

Analyzes tempo, energy, and mood on both sides to score how well a track fits a cut, surfacing the best candidates in seconds instead of manual auditioning.

Watch demo
AI generation

Auto-generating smart edits and variations from a single track, graded by transition quality.

Detects song structure, generates alternate edits and durations from one master, and grades every cut point by transition quality so only the seamless versions ship.

Voice · Mac & iOS

SummarizeMe

A Mac and iOS app that summarizes anything, anywhere, with voice-over playback. Live and shipping.

Voice-over models, genre-specific summarization agents, and share-sheet capture from any app, built natively in Swift with an AI pipeline that adapts tone and depth to each content type.

AI voice & video

Adam awakens alone in a silent world, searching for meaning in the first dawn of creation.

Written, directed, and generated end to end with AI models: shot design, motion, voice, sound, and edit crafted to hold a consistent character and world across every scene.

Paradise unfolds as innocence, wonder, and temptation begin to shape the first human story.

A continuation of the same AI filmmaking pipeline: consistent characters, painterly light, and staged camera moves built shot by shot from prompt to final edit.

AI storytelling pipeline

Toldot.tv

A streaming platform for cinematic readings of the great books, where every episode is generated through a custom pipeline: script, voice, and video.

Design, front end, and the AI pipeline built end to end, then delivered through a full streaming experience with auth, profiles, and playback.

Audio operations and systems

Running an audio department means owning the pipeline as well as the sound. These are the systems and automations that kept production moving.

Production automation

SoundFlow and Pro Tools automations that removed manual steps across the audio pipeline and scaled production.

Dozens of scripts covering naming, routing, bouncing, QC checks, and delivery, cutting repetitive session work down to single keystrokes.

Department operations

Head of Audio, Artlist

Led an eight-person audio department and owned how the work got done, not only how it sounded.

  • Priorities, capacity planning, and budget management
  • Vendor and technology decisions for the production stack
  • Quality standards for mastering, QC, and delivery
  • Cross-functional delivery with Product, Engineering, Operations, Support, Content, and Creative

Adoption and training

Making new tools stick

Every system above was rolled out to working producers and engineers, which meant documentation, hands-on training, and collecting feedback that fed back into the next iteration.

  • Workflow documentation and onboarding for the team
  • Demos and training sessions for new capabilities
  • Product feedback loops from daily production use

Broader product building

Independently designed and built operational platforms. They show the same discipline applied outside audio: discovery, requirements, build, launch, and iteration.

Craft

Audio production, mastering, and live performance

Deep professional experience in audio production, music production, mastering, live performance, and creative workflows. At Artlist I worked as a mastering engineer before leading the department, raising the music catalog to a consistent standard of quality and delivery.

That experience is why the AI tools above are built around how producers and engineers actually work, rather than around what a model can technically do.

Process

How I Build Creative AI Workflows

Start from the real creative workflow, prototype against real production needs, connect to the tools people already use, and feed what you learn back into the product.

  1. 01

    Understand the real creative workflow

Sit with the producers, engineers, and editors and learn how the work actually moves, including the workarounds.

  2. 02

Identify the bottleneck or repetitive task

Find the step that costs the most time or attention, such as auditioning, versioning, transcribing notes, or answering the same questions.

  3. 03

    Prototype an AI-assisted solution

Build a working prototype quickly with the right model or API, and judge it by whether it helps a real task.

  4. 04

Test it against real production needs

Run it on real sessions, real tracks, and real deadlines, with the people who will depend on it.

  5. 05

Connect it to the existing tools

Integrate with the DAW, the project boards, the file storage, and the support tools so it fits the pipeline instead of adding one.

  6. 06

Document the workflow and help users adopt it

Write it down, demo it, train the team, and make adoption the measure of success.

  7. 07

Feed insights back into the product team

Turn what users struggle with, ask for, and work around into practical product feedback.

Creative Production Background

Audio leadership first, then the systems around it

Former Head of Audio at Artlist, leading an eight-person department and working across audio quality, production workflows, resource planning, technology decisions, and cross-functional delivery.

I joined Artlist as a mastering engineer and spent about five years there. Production Hub grew out of the bottlenecks my own team faced every day, and since then I have independently designed and built operational platforms that are now live for hundreds of users.

I understand production workflows from the inside, as someone who has mastered the tracks, run the department, and built the tools.
  • Head of Audio, Artlist: priorities, capacity and budget planning, vendor and technology decisions, quality standards.
  • Mastering engineer, Artlist: audio quality, QC, and delivery for the music catalog.
  • Builder of Production Hub, Classic, Afterschool, and Pixtory.
  • Guitarist, producer, and mix and mastering engineer with more than twenty years in music and audio.
